    I agree with this article for the most part, mainly because he uses the sentance “…for bodybuilding purposes…” a lot. The problem is that LIFE is not bodybuilding. CrossFit is not bodybuilding, parenting is not bodybuliding, nor are studying or working. Nutrition for bodybuilding is different than nutrition for the rest of life. In a bodybuilding workout speed and endurance do not count for much. The same is not true for CrossFit or for life. The problem with refined carbohydrates is multifaceted and I am a believer that consumption in excess disrupts your body’s own natural ability to regulate appetite, satiety, percieved energy levels, and cognitive function. Sure, you might LOOK the same if you have 100g of carbs from table sugar as if you had 100g of carbs from vegetables and fruit, but you will not FEEL or PERFORM the same over time. And as far as the arguement that “you don’t need carbs for energy” goes, I dare you to go Atkins for 2 weeks and then attempt to do a workout like Murph or take a marathon test like the GRE. Then tell me you don’t need carbs for energy.

    DU: struggled in warm up to do ANY, tried singles in the WOD but couldn’t get the brain to switch off from single/double rhythm…and then finally remembered how to string single/double together. I think the mental block was my karmic comeuppance for slacking off the last few weeks. 🙂
